THE TEAM
Ian Scott
MANAGING DIRECTOR
September 2020 brings with it my 30th anniversary in the financial services industry. When I graduated with a degree in geology more years ago than I care to remember, I somewhat mistakenly thought I had finished with studying and exams. How wrong you can be! That said, I can confidently state that the significant investment of both time and money, to reach Chartered Financial Planner and Trust and Estate Practitioner status, as well as a commitment to lifelong learning, in an attempt to keep ahead of the curve, has been well worthwhile.
Although Chetwood Private Wealth is a relatively new firm, its ethos, principles, and process have been developed over the last three decades and will continue to evolve. The modest success to date of CPW is the culmination of experience gained over the long term, the dedication of the small team who have joined me for this most exciting of journeys, and most importantly with the humbling loyalty, good humour and support of our clients.
When not working on or in our business, Louise and I derive great pleasure from assisting and watching our two sons develop their own way in the world. Otherwise, we will be supporting Exeter Chiefs, enjoying fine food and wine with family and friends, trying to keep fit and walking our dogs in the fabulous Devonshire countryside or coastline. I’m also a trustee of the Baton charity and try to help and support their fabulous work whenever possible.

George Pendarves
CHARTERED FINANCIAL PLANNER
George recently joined Chetwood Private Wealth to assist Ian Scott in servicing every aspect of our clients’ present and future financial needs.
George has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services and legal sectors. George spent eight years as a corporate lawyer at a city firm in London, specialising in all aspects of corporate finance and M&A. Then, in 2019, and with a young family, George and his wife decided to move back to the West Country to join the family firm, Chetwood Wealth Management. Since joining the Chetwood Group, George has obtained his Diploma in Financial Planning, the Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management and is a member of the Personal Finance Society, as well as attaining Chartered status in 2024.
George also sits on the Chetwood Group’s board of directors.
George is married to Gosia and is a proud father to 2 young daughters. Outside of work, George enjoys spending time with his young family and also enjoys horses and gardening.

Bryan Amos
CLIENT DIRECTOR
I joined Chetwood Private Wealth (CPW) in 2019 as Client Director, having left a financial planning management role within a Private Bank. Since joining one of Ian’s former businesses as a graduate trainee in 1999 (having graduated from Exeter University with a BA in Business Management), I have spent some fifteen of the last twenty one year’s supporting Ian and his clients.
During this time and within various roles, I have gained a broad understanding and expertise in Wealth Planning, both from a technical knowledge and a client service perspective. I have attained the Certificate in Financial Planning as well as various Diploma and higher investment qualifications along the way and continue to work towards qualifications that will enhance my contribution. In line with the ethos of CPW, I fundamentally believe in doing the best I can for clients while fostering long-term, trusted relationships. I have been responsible for helping Ian develop a bespoke and ‘client-focused’ wealth planning proposition over the years, moulded into the one now being offered at Chetwood Private Wealth.
My specific area of specialism is investment planning, directly held and within various tax wrappers, although I am adept in all of the nine heads of Wealth Planning. I have known several of our clients for a considerable number of years and continue working alongside Ian and Stephen to develop further relationships with existing and new clients.
Out of work, I try and spend as much time as I can in the fresh air with my wife, Dawn, and 12-year old son, James, partaking in a variety of pursuits including, cycling, golf, tennis and popping to some of Devon’s coastal locations to enjoy the sand and sea (and local fish and chips). One of my other great passions is food and wine!

Stephen Marment
CLIENT MANAGER
During my 36 years working in financial services, I have assisted business owners by providing them with commercial finance, helped undergraduates with their budgeting, provided homeowners with mortgage advice and been treasurer for a local voluntary organisation. For the last seven years I have been developing my career in financial planning.
My qualifications include a CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and most recently I obtained the CII Level 4 Certificate in Paraplanning. I am also CII Level 4 qualified in regulation and compliance supervision.
In my free time I enjoy playing percussion with the Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service Concert Band. My wife, daughter and I also like to regularly visit National Trust properties where we never fail to partake in a homemade cake.

Shaunagh Bliss
PERSONAL ASSISTANT
I have worked as a PA and Secretary for over 25 years within several sectors, starting in London but with the last 10 years with an accountancy firm and now Chetwood Private Wealth. I joined CPW in September 2019 part-time to work with Ian, Bryan and Stephen. My main purpose at Chetwood is to support the team to enable them to provide the best possible service to our clients.
Originally from Kent, my husband and I moved to Somerset 13 years ago.
In my spare time I enjoy home cooking and baking, quizzing and catching up with old friends. I was fortunate enough to travel extensively when I was younger and have spent time living in Italy and Israel as well as working a season on the “Vendage” of a prestigious Château in Sauternes.

Louise Scott
DIRECTOR
When I graduated in Environmental Biology in the early 1980s, I imagined a career in a Lab working as a Microbiologist was the path I would follow. Funny how things turn out – I have not set foot in a Lab since the day I left University, but I can honestly say that I have had a varied and fulfilling career and have been lucky enough to take time out to be a fully hands-on Mum to our two sons. I worked as a Management Trainer for the John Lewis Partnership before having children and as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant once the boys were more independent.
I am both happy and proud to support Ian within Chetwood Private Wealth, I think he and the team do a fantastic job looking after their clients. My role is more behind the scenes, ensuring that everything runs smoothly from a personnel perspective and that our accounting systems are well maintained.
I am lucky to be in a position where I can volunteer some of my time and I gain a great deal of satisfaction from working as a Grief Support Worker for Balloons, a local charity which supports bereaved children and their families. In my spare time I enjoy oil painting, walking our two dogs in the glorious Devon countryside, cycling and yoga. Ian and I both love to treat ourselves with fine wines and foods and I love to try new recipes at home, lucky Ian!
